Curt Dahl
Vice President, Power Systems Management
Curt Dahl was named Vice President, Power Systems Management, in December 2024. In this role, Mr. Dahl is responsible for the development of LIPA’s integrated resource plan; transmission and distribution planning, fuel and purchased power forecasting and management, including contract negotiation and administration; power project development and management; and participation in the region’s wholesale electricity markets.
Mr. Dahl has more than 38 years of experience in the utility sector and expertise in the design of the Long Island and New York power system.
Most recently, he served as Senior Director of Engineering, where he oversaw Engineering, Land Surveying, Real Estate, Investor Delivery Assurance, and the NERC Facilities Rating groups. Prior to that, as Director of Planning, Mr. Dahl managed Resource and T&D Planning, Reliability Management, Load Forecasting, and Power Asset Management.
For the past 25 years, Mr. Dahl has also represented LIPA in executive roles on the New York State Reliability Council, which establishes resource adequacy requirements and reliability standards for the NY and LI power grid.
Mr. Dahl holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in engineering from NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, an MBA from Hofstra University, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York State.
