History of the 2023 Off Island Capacity RFP
On January 17, 2023, PSEG Long Island, as agent of and acting on behalf of LIPA, issued a request for proposals, the “2023 Off Island Capacity RFP”, to acquire up to 345 MW of installed capacity electrically located in the New England Control Area that is eligible to qualify as Long Island Locational ICAP under NYISO Rules for one or both of the below NYISO Capability Years.
- May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2025
- May 1, 2025 through April 30, 2026
The Contract Capacity may be provided by aggregating capacity from more than one generating resource. The minimum Contract Capacity that may be offered in this RFP is 25 MW of ICAP. The requested capacity, when combined with LIPA’s transmission rights associated with the Cross Sound Cable will contribute to meeting LIPA’s Long Island Locational installed capacity obligation.
