Western Nassau RFP
On January 26, 2016, PSEG Long Island, as agent of and acting on behalf of LIPA, issued an RFP (“Western Nassau RFP” or “2016 WN RFP”) to acquire (i) a minimum of 160 MWs Load Reduction and/or Power Production resources by December 31, 2020 increasing yearly to a total of 275 MWs by the peak load period of 2030 to meet the resource needs in the Far Rockaway Load Area; (ii) a minimum of 100 MWs of Load Reduction and/or Power Production resources by December 31, 2020 to meet the resource needs in the Glenwood Load Area.
After a review of proposals submitted to the 2016 WN RFP, PSEG Long Island has found that the most economic solutions in both the Far Rockaway Load Area and the Glenwood Load Area are the transmission solutions identified in Sections 1.2 through 1.4 of the 2016 WN RFP. Consequently, the 2016 WN RFP was cancelled on August 16, 2016 and no projects were selected.
