Emergencies and major events require skilled contractors to supplement our workforce. After a career with PSEG Long Island, retirees know things about the electric business that others don’t. PSEG Long Island is offering retirees the opportunity to request a temporary storm assignment role as a contract employee of Neotecra, a leading provider of staffing, consulting, and solutions.

Safety Roles
The following roles are available for retirees interested in participating in future restoration events.

- Serve as a liaison between PSEG Long Island and foreign utility crew management personnel during deployments to assist PSEG Long Island on restoration efforts
- Document daily activities for assigned crews (i.e. attendance, work details, etc.)
- Coordinate the dispatching and completion of assigned jobs
- Direct foreign utility crews to/from job locations and material staging sites
- Coordinate local accommodations for meals and lodging

- Conduct assessment(s) of reported overhead primary and secondary damage locations
- Document and report back on incident conditions found
- Assist with the identification of material and equipment requirements in support of repairs
- Tape off hazardous location as appropriate

- PSEG Long Island’s Retiree Storm Team will work with retirees who may hold a specialized skill and/or training in additional areas of support.
- Electric Service, substation operations, warehouse, Safety, Health and Environmental support, etc.

- Standby sites with wire down and/or hazardous conditions until relieved by a qualified field crew or the location has been deemed safe
- Document and report back on incident status

The following roles are available for retirees interested in participating in future restoration events.

- DPS Complaint Process
- Single Outage Callbacks

- Conduct door to door wellness visits supporting Life Support Equipment (LSE) customers affected by outages
- Capture information and report back on conditions found
- Perform neighborhood canvasing to provide information on restoration efforts
- Distribute general updates, Restoration Plans, ETRs, etc.
- Provide assistance at Community Outreach Centers established to support local customers affected by outages
- Support efforts at charging stations, water and ice distribution sites, etc.
