PSEG Long Island and Island Harvest Thank Babylon Community for Generous Donations to ‘Power to Feed Long Island’ Collection Drive

September is Hunger Action Month

(UNIONDALE, N.Y. – Sept. 20, 2024) PSEG Long Island and Island Harvest Food Bank thank the people of the Town of Babylon for donating the equivalent of nearly 4,000 meals at PSEG Long Island’s Power to Feed Long Island food collection on Friday, Sept. 16. The event, held at Stop & Shop located at 365 Route 109 in West Babylon, brought out dozens of community members who opened their hearts, wallets and trunks to provide cash, food, personal care items and pet supplies to their neighbors in need. As a thank you for contributing, PSEG Long Island employee-volunteers handed out reusable shopping bags and LED lightbulbs – gifts that help preserve the environment and conserve energy. 

Friday’s event was the final site for the summer-long food drive initiative. The online donation link will be up until the end of the month – September is Hunger Awareness Month.
