Davis Park Distribution Feeder

Reliability Projects

We're making upgrades to enhance our system's ability to withstand extreme weather and meet energy demands.

Project Specifics

This project was completed in April 2020.

This project will install a new 13kV underground feeder from Fire Island Pines (FIP) substation to Watch Hill. The work will include approximately 3.3 miles of underground cable and the installation of equipment along the route. This project provides an additional feeder from FIP to Davis Park to create a loop system all the way to Watch Hill that will increase reliability and minimize outage duration.

Timeline
Construction is expected to begin November 2019 and go through March 2020.

Project Route
The project starts at the FIP substation traveling east through Fire Island National Seashore property, Water Island, Davis Park and Watch Hill. Most of the route will follow the Dune Walk east to Watch Hill.
