Beach 67th Street MTA Relocation Project

Project Specifics

PSEG Long Island is committed to delivering best-in-class system reliability and to being a good neighbor by coordinating with local government to support neighborhood improvements. Over the next several months, PSEG Long Island must relocate and replace existing overhead transmission wire, install temporary poles, and install underground transmission cable in order to accommodate the MTA Beach 67th Street station upgrade. While this work is performed, traffic will be impacted along the route.

The MTA is performing station upgrades at the Beach 67th St Station in Far Rockaway. In order to prepare for the construction, two transmission circuits must be relocated in order for the MTA to perform construction work.

A brief note on COVID-19
PSEG Long Island is deeply committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of our customers, employees and our communities. We ask that customers remain in their homes while crews are working nearby. If customers must speak with our crews, we ask that they practice responsible “physical distancing” and remain at least 6 feet away to help ensure the health of everyone involved. The contractor for this project has provided PSEG Long Island with its safety plan, which meets current regulatory requirements with respect to COVID-19, including physical distancing measures.

We are leveraging the guidance of the CDC and state and local authorities in the areas we operate. At PSEG Long Island, we know that our customers rely on us to power their lives and businesses.
