Our EV Make Ready program provides electric infrastructure incentives that can cover on average $370,000* for DC Fast Chargers and $30,000* for Level 2 chargers. This initiative aims to make EV charging more accessible and encourage the transition to cleaner transportation. *Rebates and incentives will differ with every EVMR project.

- Download the EVMR application.
- Complete and sign your application with either a wet or a DocuSign signature.
- Review the eligible charger/network list to confirm that your equipment qualifies for the program.

Application Requirements
The following documents are required as part of your application:
- Charge Letter
If a service upgrade or new service is required, you must provide a Charge Letter for the project. - Itemized Estimated/Quote
Provide an itemized quote on the contractor or developer letterhead. This quote must match what is in the application’s ‘Make Ready Cost’ tab. - Letter of Agency (LOA)
If applicable, submit a Letter of Agency. A completed LOA is required when the rebate is not assigned to the customer. - PSEG Long Island Bill
If applying with existing service, submit a copy of a PSEG Long Island bill. - W9 Form
Submit a W9 form for the entity that is receiving the incentive.

Application Review + Pre-Approval After an application is submitted, the EV team will review and issue a conditional pre-approval if all requirements are met. For the lease model rebate (DCFC), a lease agreement will need to be executed. If applicable, PSEG Long Island distribution and design will work with the customer/developer to provide energy capacity to the site. |
Energize the Station Once the Contractor states that the charging station is energized, they would notify the EV team and a site visit would be made. All closeout documents will be requested and must be submitted before a site visit is scheduled |
Receive Close-out Documents + Site Visit Once a site visit is authorized as passing, the contractor will complete and sign a project completion form, indicating that all work has been finished to the agreed upon scope of work. |
Application Processing + Receive Rebate Once the documentation is completed this allows the PSEG Long Island rebate processing team to issue the incentive. Please note that the incentive may take 4-6 weeks to process and be disbursed. |

Rebate
- Exclusive to Level 2 projects.
- Cash rebate.
- Check will be issued within 60 days after installation and paperwork is completed and approved.
Lease Model- Exclusive to DCFC projects.
- Offers incentives for both the USMR and CSMR for DCFC projects.
- PSEG Long Island enters into a lease agreement with the station owner to own the CSMR for 10 years which has less of an impact on customer rate.
- At the end of the 10-year term, the station owner retains ownership of the CSMR infrastructure.
- Station owner maintains ownership of the CSMR infrastructure during 10-year term, and there is no revenue sharing with PSEG Long Island.
USMR Coverage Only- Pays for the USMR costs if a station owner installing DCFC is unable or chooses not to enter into a lease agreement with PSEG Long Island.
- CSMR infrastructure will be the responsibility of the station owner.

PSEG Long Island is announcing the below updates to the 2024 Electric Vehicle Make Ready Program (EVMR). The updates have been made in response to feedback PSEG Long Island has received from program participants. Less than 4 ports - $20,000
Between 4-6 ports - $30,000
Every port above 6 will have an additional $1,000 added to the incentive cap - DCFC
Less than 4 ports - $185,000
Between 4-6 ports - $370,000
Every port above 6 will have an additional $10,000 added to the incentive cap - Level 2 & DCFC Projects
Any proposed projects that will have a combination of Level 2 and DCFC chargers, please notify PSEG-LI-EVMAKEREADY@PSEG.com to discuss incentive caps
Please Note: Projects that were pre-approved before July 12, 2024, will be subject to the previous program eligibility and guidelines. All submitted applications require a customer signature on the “Customer Information” tab. If applications are submitted without a customer signature, the application will be returned. The 2024 Electric Vehicle Make Ready Program Application Version 2.0 and updated program guidance documents will be available on the PSEG Long Island website on or around July 15th, 2024.The PSEG Long Island Energy Efficiency team holds Open House Events every Friday from 9AM to 10AM. We will hold an overview session of the new program changes on Friday July 19th if you have any questions about the application updates, or any other questions on your projects.

Customer-Side Make-Ready (CSMR) includes conduit, conductors, trenching, boring, electrical panel, transformer, and landscaping restoration. CSMR infrastructure is located between the Meter and EV Charge
Utility-Side Make-Ready (USMR) represents any utility infrastructure upgrades when a load letter is submitted to PSEG Long Island’s Building and Renovation Services (BRS). If applicable, PSEG Long Island provides a charge letter to the customer, representing any work and/or customer cost associated with work from the electric distribution system up to the meter.
